Like many here, I am working on my income tax records for my online business. For one reason or another, I have never been really satisfied with any of the record keeping systems I have used. So, this time, I tried setting up my own software for keeping up with my transactions throughout the past year using a small program I built with TSB. Most of my transactions go through Paypal and one can download a file from Paypal that details them. With TSB, you can import the .csv file into your software. All you have to do is to set up the corresponding fields, such as Date, Description, etc. You do not need all the fields. Once loaded, you can run your totals, etc. And, when you are all done with your records for 2009, you can export a file to keep for your records or just leave it in your software.
This is handy if you have lots of transactions to deal with. And, by using the software you make, you can further develop it to sell to others, learn more about what you can do with it, and even get new ideas for future software.
Who knows, you may even get those taxes done!
