It would be cool if there was a checkbox to "Use Column Headings" when you are importing data into an App. When there are alot of fields, it take alot of time to Match the individual fields up manually. To use the column headings, all you have to do it name the columns the same as the Editor name.

Thanks,

Hi Barry,

How would the software know which column to match to the correct editor?

For example, you have a name column and a text editor name, address, phone number, hair color and so on...

The software won't be able to understand that you want name to do with the name text editor.

It would know because the Column header would be exactly the same as the name of the editor. The app would have to have the editor name the same as the column headers....

All I am saying it that it would speed up the import of data if there was an option to "Use Column Headers"

What would be even cooler is that if you could start with an empty software object, and just do an import and TSB would use the Column headers to create "unknown" editors and then have the capablity to go back in and set the editor to what kind it needs to be. That way converting a csv file would be like a 1 minute process...!!

Thanks,
Barry

Yeah, I could do a search for column headers and match them up if they are the same. That wouldn't be too difficult and wouldn't take away from what is already there.

The end user can make any matching changes the same way.

Good idea, Barry!

After doing import over and over again, I think it would be great to have on the Import Wizard - Column Chooser screen a button to "Save Template" and a button to "Load Template" So you only have to do a set up the column once or twice to teak it. This save would save a config file of the fields and the load woudl load the fileds from a file....

I think this would be greatly appreciated....
