Hi Michele,

No there isn't a way but that is a great idea. I will add this post to the wishlist so I can keep track of all the suggestions.

Michelle does have good ideas!

I kick myself repeatedly when I want to export an object to the library. And I have to come back here to reassure me that it's on Thomas' to-do list.

'Cause I can't seem to get an object right the first time. It has to evolve. If I build it in the library and bring it in to an app, that's cool but by the time it's set up right it no longer matches the library version. And I can't copy it back to the library.

Thomas, when you do this, I'll also hope we can name them whatever we want. So we could have several versions of the same thing, each modified for a different use, as we go. I know, you're probably already thinking that way, but sometimes I can't just keep quiet.

Thanks, Michelle, and thanks, Thomas!

It will work the same as import but reverse. hehe

So that means you will be able to name it whatever you want. :)

Some news about this feature?

I had stupid enough to build the apps w/o touching the library at all, and I have to re-create pretty the same objects again to put'hem in a new software.

Is there some way to work around this until this new feature is in place?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Leonardo,

Nothing as of right now. It will be in the release post when it is available. :)

I will try to sneak this in on the next update depending how difficult.

Don't forget you can clone or copy a software program. If you are going to use many of the objects in one program that may be a workaround until I get the library addition created.

Hi Thomas,
You mentioned you can clone or copy a software program. Is that part of TSB Express or do you just copy the tsb file and rename it? Didn't see any copy or clone functions anywhere in TSB Express. My first app will be a good starting point for my next, so would be great to reuse a bunch of objects. Thanks much!

Hi Mark,

There should be a clone button on the model window when you first open it. That is what you want to use. Copying the file won't work.

For example: Say you have software one that you created. Your user installs it on their computer.

You decided to copy the layout of software one to create software two. Now you user installs it but it over writes software one.

That is what happens when you simply copy and paste the software file.

Now if you clone it using the Model window your user will be able to install both programs without any trouble.

Hopefully this makes sense. :)

Thanks,

Thomas
