I need some people to test something out on Windows 7 for me.
I am running into file locks which results in error on my new Windows 7 laptop.
I need you to build an installation and once it is done build it again. I am getting an error because the software is locking files.
Thanks,
Thomas

It looks like there is a bug in Windows 7 that keeps locks on files even when I copy them to create the installation.
I need to figure out a workaround to this.
Basically, you build a installation once and then need to restart the computer in order to build a installation again because of this Windows 7 bug.

Hey Robbie,
I just need someone to build a software project into a setup file. Once it is created, I need you to do it again to see if you get the same error I am getting.
Thanks,
Thomas

No need to install the created software.
I am building an installation and it works fine. I build another installation and get an error. This is without closing TSB. Build one right after another without closing down TSB.
There seems to be a problem with Windows 7 and the way they lock files.

Thanks Robbie.
I wonder why I am getting those errors. Either way, I have a feeling others will get the errors as well. My work around doesn't seem to work when it comes to clean up.
Get back to work! :)
Thanks again mate,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,
I just did five builds without shutting down TSB pro, compressed, uncompressed, even changed some settings, ie. making multi-user, adding audit, and security and changed the layout. No issues at all. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Cheers mate

Thanks Jim.
Maybe it is coming from some updated components.
Back to testing.

I decided to be safe and create a workaround for this problem before others start having it. If I don't create the workaround it is almost guaranteed it will start popping up as a problem. hehe

I'm on Windows 7 x64 bit, but only have TSB Express. Do you only need tetst from TSB Pro owners? About to go to work so it won't be until this evening when I return.
Thanks

Hi Stewart,
All versions will work the same. ;)
I decided to create a workaround just in case people start having problems. It is already implemented into TSB Expert and will be added to the other versions.
The problem I came across is documented so I thought it better to fix it before anyone has the problem.
Murphy's law will kick me in the butt if I didn't. hehe
Thanks,
Thomas
