View Full Version : What would a good response be to the Question..
"Couldn't we just do this ourselves in an Excel sheet?" be
I could see that argument coming up with some people stating they could just keep track of their own records and create their own charts in Excel.
Would the main answer be it's more user friendly and easier for those who aren't masters of Excel basically?
What other features can the software do that someone couldnt just replicate themselves in Excel? (to focus on them as benefits)
Cheers!

Hi Dexx,
.
I have had people say that about software that took me 9 months to create. There is no way a spreadsheet can represent all that I did in that program. The thing is it wouldn't change the mind of that person. They had their mind made up and normally it is someone who didn't take time to really look at the program.

Hi Dexx:
I've created a headache tracker application using Thomas' TSBPro. It allows user to record particular headache incidents as well as productivity loses etc. along with treatments they have utilized. Now adding a contact manager to it with other features. With the charting and reporting capability of TSBPro it provides a fantastic display of highly useful informtion the user can go over with their doctor. I'm pretty handy in Excel but it would be a daunting task to attempt to replicate something as involved as this tracker application. I'm somewhat experienced in Perl Tk graphics and the last program I created involved 20,000 lines of code. Boy, was it a back breaker! TSBPro is a snap. Since I haven't worked all of TSBPro's options I don't know its full limits yet, but it packs a wollop.
Best regards,
John Burns
