View Full Version : Struggling for Software Ideas

I just thought of this now, and tried it out and I think it could work.

I just popped over to http://www.download.com and entered a couple different high traffic niches into the search.

Then I took a look at the software programs that were received 1,000+ downloads a week

Then I examined the features of the software to see if I could use TSB Pro to not only do what that software does, but do it faster, easier, and with more features...

and surprisingly most the popular software that was selling for $35.99 after a 30 day trial and getting rave reviews...I could probably recreate in less than an hour!

Now imagine if instead of selling the software, you used the web browser and banners to promote an affiliate offer or CPA offer.

You'd not only have a lot more downloads and positive comments over such a useful software, but it would probably go viral and get passed around more as a better "free" alternative to the paid option...

and more views = more chance at sales in the future, especially if they are constantly using such a useful "free" piece of software.

Food for thought!

I'll try it out once I figure out more of the features and abilities myself!

PS - *Disclaimer* Now don't go blatantly copy the software itself that you see, but take a look at the features and abilities and improve on them yourself. Difference between a powerful new product and an attempted copy-cat :-)

Stop telling people what I am doing Dexx. Great post. :)

I forgot to mention, you can also take a software that you create and make it look differently and become competition with yourself. More downloads.

Eric

Hi Eric,

No, no plans for MAC. I have a feeling you can run this on a windows parallel on MAC. I haven't been able to test it.

... it's just thinking outside the box, fellas!

I just wish I could get the hang of TSB better. I'm working on it,
but I think there are some things that do escape me.
A simple way to explain it might be that the software
is "round" while I am "square"

I've got this great set of instructions that I know
would be a killer app. I press on... and I'm lovin' it :)

Like Thomas has often told me, don't make it complicated!

Just keep an eye out for things people are doing that they use word, excel etc. for

and find a way to make what they do easier to do with TSB

Hi Guys

Have a barrell of ideas just waiting to get converted to software. I took your advice and went through all my systems written in excel for ideas. Really not enough hours inthe day!!! I am hoping now that holidays are finally over in Australia I can get started. Just have to stop being tempted by the beach now :). Due to hit over 40 degrees C today. Looking forward to the updated version Thomas.

Cheers

I'm trying to grasp the capabilitys of TSB Pro and the manual has helped but I' still at a loss for exactly what kind of software it can create? Has anyone developed anything yet and if so can you show it in the forum to help others get the creative flow going.

Thanks

Roland, what niche do you want to work in. Let's brainstorm a niche to give you a better idea of what you can create.

Hi there

Just curious if it can create fill in the blank sales letters, or even create an application that can generate 5 page output either to word or html - the reason I was thinking it could create a 5 page sales letter - first page is Problem, second page, Accentuate the problem, third page provide the Solution, fourth page call to Action, and fifth page Guarantee.

If it can do fill in the blanks, you can create software for different niche (offline businesses) e.g real estate businesses can create different mail campaigns for different special occasions.

Regards

Minisha - this is my second post :)

An upcoming version will have a mail merge style feature added and may be able to do what you are asking about sales letters.

I recently saw a 'software generator' for $27...
and all it does is open a GUI that displays a website of your choice,
and a couple links and a banner option that you
basically rebrand the 'software' with...

It's not a TSB program, but the fact that someone
is making money selling THAT is definite motivation to crank
out a couple simple peices of software and try and market them!

haha, I can believe they are selling that. I am always shocked at the quality of software being sold. I was checking out Ebay last week for some ideas and you should see some of the software there. The interface is just terrible and the prices they were selling was anywhere from $27 to $97.

The software we create is very professional. The interface is easy to use and will help with productivity. It all comes down to marketing. You can beat the other software products out there with a superior product and a better marketing campaign.

Thomas,

my jaw hit the floor when I saw that,
and I got to thinking.. why am I trying to create
a 'complex' feature loaded program when I can whip out
something quick and easy, and sell it ?!?!?

I can always add features over time and develop it further...

When I saw that software, the word "crap-plication" came to mind LoL

HEHE

Here is something else to think of. When you create your software program, keep some of the features for a "PRO" version that you can upsell them on. ;)

Heck, it could be a simple as adding charts and reports to create a Professional version.

Hi Thomas,
First of all I would like to thank you for walking me through the TSB application use. Now I understand why you were confident enough to give 6 months money back guarantee. I love it. What options are there to express users to include reports in the development process. Thank you.

Thanks so much Eyasu.

A lot of people on this very forum helped out a lot to get this software to where it is at.

The reports and charts are in the Pro version. It is very expensive and I let few people upgrade while I work on a video course that will be bundled with the Pro version.

I have been letting a few people upgrade here and there but not a lot.

I normally tell people to start making some money with the Express version before you even think about the Pro version.

Thanks, :)
