Thanks to Taylor wanting me to work harder, I just purchased the pro version of screensteps. I like it so far and recommend it if you want to do some nice, fast manuals for your software.
This week comes great detail in documentation like I promised. I hate this stuff if you haven't noticed so it is time for me to get er done. hehe
If you are interested in the getting it found a discount coupon on the internet that knocked about 25% off.

Creating a user guide is essential for any software you build, IMHO :)
I actually lost 2 sales because I hadn't created a help file or a video help. I thought the software was so easy to use I didn't need one. Apparently it was easy for me, but not so for some others. One of the comments was "what kind of crappy software doesn't even have a help file". So you can see from that, even if the software is easy to use, some people actually equate a help file to software quality. Even if there is no relation.
I also bought Screen Shot Pro back when Taylor brought it up, just to create the help manual mentioned above. There are a few things I don't like about it, but other than those, it works great. Now if only I wasn't so lazy, I'd get that manual done :D

Mike you will always get the occasional person who says your software sucks. Normally it is because they don't spend any time using it. I think it is more of a lazy issue with the buyer. I have had my share of people like that. :)
I had a programmer buy the Express version and said it was terrible because he couldn't figure out how to do it within a couple of hours. He was a programmer so if couldn't figure it out than it wasn't worth having.
I laughed it off saying that sometimes we think we are too smart for our own good. I told him if he asked the question on how to build the software that a lot of my non programming customers would have been able to tell him on the forums. I also told them congratulations on learning how to program within 2-3 hours. :D
I wish screen steps allowed you to nest more rows on the manuals. This should allow me to crank out help manuals a lot faster. I can see using this for other things as well. It can be used to create tutorials for anything.
