View Full Version : How to re-arrange Home and Analysis Tab When The Software Is Launched

Is there a way to make sure Home is the default or first one to show instead of Analysis when we launch the software? I am positive 96.75% of your average user will not know where to start using the software if they have to click on Home. Of course, if they read the instruction manual, they might get it. But I'm not sure of that.

If we are going to focus on non IMers, our software needs to be non-thinking and no-brainer kind. These little features can eliminate most of our technical support questions and reduce the refund rate.

I know they are easy and insignificant for some of us. But not so for your average user. I am talking about things like, adding Image and text for the icons in the Word Processor...Visual. Remember the Army General's advice? It's KISS... Keep Simple and Stupid.

I worked for a hotel for years. They use handles on all the front doors--inside and out. Well, 99% of our first timers would pull the doors instead of pushing. Some would try all the doors and ask me if the hotel is closed. It took me a long time to convince the big guys to change the pull handles to push plates from the inside.

Sometimes we can be so focused on the big things and we neglect the little things that can make a huge difference. Like they say, "God is in the details."

Alright, I know when one does not have a team, it's kind of easy to overlook certain things. Hey, I suppose we are the team here on this forum. We are testing, reporting, and making suggestion. Being a one-man-operation is not easy.

This is a tough one RG. The way it was built, it is tough to assign a index to the order. At the very least, I will make the analysis at the bottom. That I can do and will be in the next release. Later I want to figure out a way to allow you to resort the order.

We are definately a team here. It takes more than one person to make a great product. That is why I love the people here and the community that has started to grow from it. (I know what some of you guys are thinking Mike, Glenn, Steve, Steve, Dexx and Alton, this is not man love I am talking about. :D).

Hi Village -

You are making excellent points here. I know that many of my planned apps will be aimed at non-IMers...

I would say that this group IS evolving into Thomas' team... and I know that we will all benefit from our teamwork! ;-)

Absolutely Tink. That is how you make a killer product. I can get it started but without you guys there won't be any growth. That is what makes your feedback so valuable. I do think of us as a team.

I am looking outside the IM niche as well. There is a lot of money out there if people look outside the IM niche.

Did this ever get introduced into one of the updates? I was playing around with the TSB Pro I just downloaded and installed, and tried to include some reports and charts, but I can't find any way to move Analysis beneath Home.

If it helps here's what I was running (info from right clicking the .exe file of my copy of TSB):
TSB Professional
File Version 1.0.4036.6929
Date Modified: 19-Jan-11

Hi David,

I believe it is covered in the help documentation. You have to run the software as if you were going to customize it. There will be a edit model button under tools. You want to change the index properties descending depending on the order. Save and it should change the order of your menu.

Ahh yes, I see it now, page 75 out of 357 in the TSB manual, 3.9 - Setting Navigation Order, with painstakingly captured, detailed screenshots. Thanks for replying so quickly Thomas, even though it was my fault I didn't RTFM :p

Anytime David. :) I mentioned the docs because I knew there were screen shots that would help you a lot more than my post.

People want more documentation even after 357 pages. haha
