Thomas,
Let's say I just made a simple software. I sell or give away. Then either I or my customers decide it would be great to have more functions in the software.

Can I open already created software and make changes to it? Or does it require a completely new rebuild?

Thanks,
Glenn

That is a great question. And, would the customer's data, already entered, mesh with the new software version?
Thanks,
Alton

As of right now, it would delete their database if they installed it again.

I do have a plan for this type of functionality. I just needed more time to implement. Once implemented, it will not effect your current software.

Any update on this? When can we expect to see this functionality?

Being able to provide updates without destroying existing customer data is essential for any database application!

No update right now. I am working on a release to correct some problems but haven't been able to add the software update yet. It will be in the next couple of months though. This is tricky and needs to be thoroughly tested.

Maybe there's a way to save the current database file, and copy and paste it back in to the folder with the new update?

I've seen some programs that work like that, could make for a temporary fix...I think?

I wish it was that easy Dexx. It is something I have been working on and will get it done pretty soon. You won't have to worry about any software that you already sold or given away.

So sell your software or give it away. No need to wait.
