View Full Version : What are some ideas for using the Scheduler?
All the other objects and editors I have been able to brainstorm uses for, but with the scheduler I'm having trouble...
I would assume by now most people have an Outlook or some other day time / calendar tracking program, no?
What does the scheduler we can provide help to offer?

Hi Dexx,
Don't forget you can add your own fields to the Scheduler. That means you can create a weight loss eating plan, a scheduler for your car maintenance, doctor's appointments, birthdays, seminars and so on...

Can the scheduler be set to work backwards?
In other words, can I give a Seminar date and a time frame (such as 3 weeks) and have it set up deadlines for when things need to happen to accomplish them by that date?

OK :) Let me see if I can explain... (I don't know that this is possible and it sure isn't a big deal if it can't be done )
I am thinking about a project management type of software that has (for instance) a set of 5 actions that are to be schedule automatically when the project is started.
BUT, instead of being schedule based on the start date they are schedule based on the finishing date...
So the user opens the software on March 1... A Seminar has been schedule for later that month.
The Seminar date is March 31.
The user puts in the March 31 (ending date) and the software automatically sets up the schedule so that
1) Action 5 happens on the seminar date of March 31
2) Action 4 happens 2 days BEFORE that -- March 29
3) Action 3 happens 3 days earlier -- March 26
4) Action 2 happens 7 days before -- March 19
and 5) Action 1 happens 8 days before Action 2 -- March 12
... does that make sense?:(

Hi Tink,
That is a tough one. You can set the schedule to a timline. I would try adding the seminar as a resource and than adding that resource to each task or appointment.
I think that would be the best solution with what we are working with.

Hi Thomas-
OK... That makes sense.
Thanks, as always!
