Hi. Just a couple of wish list sort of thoughts . . . .

This may be included already as a feature in TSB Pro. I was wondering if it might be possible to include a searchable data base function that would allow us to import data items such as words and phrases, and short paragraphs from a text file or diretly from web sources. The db would then allow cross indexing of information by category, subcategory and/or keyword.

Changing the subject a bit, any chance that we can or might later be able to import video? For example, use in a video ebook? I know I could create an application opening a website browser window that would link to video material, but that's not what I'm talking about. I have no idea whether or not any of this is realistic.

Hi Evan,

Glad to see you back and posting. :)

The grids are searchable as well as sorting and lots of different ways to filter. They are extremely powerful.

I am working on a import feature that will take a csv file. Nothing like a screen scraper or web page scraper but that may be something we add at a later date. I am always open to new ideas. ;)

Video would make the installation file very large. I am struggling to add more functionality as well as keeping the size of the setups as small as possible. I would say that videos being embedded would be a bad idea. You could have the browsers open up web pages with the videos placed on the pages itself. It will keep you download size smaller as well as give your users videos.

Thomas,

Thank you for your reply. I'm glad to be back and able to post. I am trying to take on the learning curve and am afraid that many of my questions will be "green," to say the least. I will just start building applications to see what they can do. Thank you for your advice re video. I can see that it would make the application cumbersome.

That would be wonderful, Thomas. I had been thinking about creating apps for manufacturers in my industry and I would need practical way to import their product into the program.

I, too, will look forward to an import feature for csv files. By the way, is it feasable to build in the capability (or does it already exist) to change to change csv/excel files to text docs and text docs to csv?

Hi Evan,

I am not sure why you would need to change a csv file to a text doc. Could you explain more please?

Thanks,

Hey Thomas....i know this is NOT a good time to ask (wheres the sheepish icon lol) but is this coming in the near future?
I have some customers in the office equipment industry and importing products into tsb would be great.

Import is in this update. I will try to come up with a list of updates once I get things under control. :)
