Hey All,

I have a couple product ideas I plan to build and launch on clickbank, but now I'm wondering what the best way to get them to opt-in to the same list that the free software products I create also opt-in to (the general newsletter)

I'm thinking I might have all the software programs come with a "register your email address" to use the software when first installed (in case the software is pirated and shared on download sites, at least I still get emails for my list)

But would that turn off someone who just paid for the product? Having to provide their email to use the software they paid for?

Or are most people conditioned for that sort of stuff nowadays?

I'd probably just mention "Register Your Email Now to Receive Free Software Updates and Upcoming Announcements"

but would that turn experienced marketers off who know they are signing up to my promotional newsletter (I'll be using GetResponse)

Anyone currently doing something similar?

Dexx, I just ask them to try the software and if they want to continue using it...join the list. The first email they get after joining has the activation number and a free guide about whatever the subject is. I have been doing this on my Dog Record Pro product, which is free. Here is the window they see when they start the software each time until the trial expires...

I haven't been requiring list enrollment with the products I charge for. But, I probably ought to. On some products, I recommend that they join to keep up with updates and such. On those, I present the sign up fields.

Did you go ahead and make the migration to GetResponse? I remember a few weeks ago you stirred 'em up on the WF about the subject.

lol Stirred indeed!

I did end up making the leap from Aweber to GetResponse ya, mostly due to the integration with DL Guard that allows automatic subscription with GetResponse unlike Aweber which actually out-right told Sam (creator of DL Guard) they won't be integrating
