Analysis and Reports Templates

Hi Thomas:
Is it possible to build and save analysis and/or report templates? As of now I've been building a new analysis each time I want to chart some data. Not much of a problem for me, however users to whom I distribute the software to will be much less facile at analysis and report building. Can I design an analysis template(s) for example and then when the user wants to have charting they click on the template and the data they entered is put into the pivot table and the template chart is created. Same goes for reports.
I think it will be a bit much to ask each user to become that experienced in building an anaylsis chart or a report on their own. If template feature is not available I'll improve help manual that goes along with the software I create.

Hi John,


It is suppose to work that way. You can set up reports and charts ahead of time. When your user clicks on the reports or charts button, they will see a list of existing reports and/or charts. The can click on the report and click execute report button on the top to run it or double click the row to edit the report. The chart would be double clicked and then click the bind to run the chart.

That means you can prepopulate with some reports and charts. The user can also add more or edit what you already included.

I forgot to mention. This can really help sell a software product. People love reports and charts. Not only that but having them already done for them is a huge bonus.
