Please See http://goldenniches.googlepages.com/tiger.zip to download video

I've just started to use the express edition and I'm receiving multiple errors at every turn.

Unfortunately, I've not documented every error except the one in the video attached.

The types of errors I'm receiving:

Index Was Out of Range
Out of Memory
Something to do with Objects and Instances

The video attached shows three objects in one Software Object. A Date Editor and Two Static Text Objects.
I received a Index Was Out of Range when trying to run the software to customize the layout.

I've read other threads with what I believe is the same issue. One solution was to set the Editor icon before adding the property. I've tried so many different combinations of selecting the icon first then setting the property and vice-versa. I've restarted the project by creating new projects numerous times.

I've read that the database is locking up and not unlocking. I run into this issue with the software I support. With the software I support it is as simple as deleting the lock file. Does a file like this exist in Tiger?

What is the solution to this error? Is there one? If im not creating my objects in the right combination please explain the steps I need to take?

If anyone sees what I am doing wrong in the video please inform me because I love the concept of Tiger and can see how this software create could be very powerful and lucrative. I can see so many opportunities with it. When I can get it to work.

Thanks for your time,

Pat

The link you provided comes up 'not found'. I know with the instances and objects errors I received , it was due to bad naming practices. The validate button is now my friend :)

Pat, to help you a lot better, I recommend posting one thread per error. That way it is easier to rectify the problems.

Normally the out of memory is a icon problem. If it has layers it will error out that way. There has also been problems with favicon.

Index out of range may be your static text. I had one customer with this problem and it was because he was using the description as the static text instead of typing it into the word processing editor below it.

The Objects may be named incorrectly. Are you following the naming conventions in the manual? If so, please list the names and the editor names here.

Thanks,

Thomas

Thanks for the quick reply.

The video link didn't work sorry about that, my wife was anxious to take the baby swimming and I didn't confirm that it uploaded, I'll re upload it later.

The static pages were created by importing a Word file into the word processor.

I removed both static object from my software object and I still received the error when I ran the program to customize the pages. After the program opened, I clicked new to see if what would display and try to customize the layout

I received:

Exception occurs while assigning the 'DetailView, ID:DreamsDatabase_DetailView' view to WinWindow:
The handle is invalid. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070006 (E_HANDLE))

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time

Hi Pat,

Please send me your layout file at tbelknap (at) profittigerpro (dot) com.

First I'd like to thank Thomas for personally looking at my project. I've support an application in the Engineering field and I can tell you it's not easy work.

Now, in no way am I saying this is definately why I got the errors above. However, what I discovered is in project with errors I had two static text objects. I was populating both static text objects by inserting word documents ( Insert > File...).

I got the project to work by not inserting word documents in the static text objects but by saving the word documents to .rtf and copying and pasting the text into the static text objects.

Hi Pat,

Instead of inserting a word document, did you try to just open it? Meaning click open and then go to your word document file and click open.

No, I did not try just opening it. I will try that.

Thanks
