Food For Thought (FFT): What Could "I" Possibly Create That Doesn't Already Exist?

Many times throughout this forum, I have seen someone say something along the lines of "...that
already exists"... Does it really matter? Seriously?

Even though the phrase “that already exists” seems to fill most people’s thoughts now a days, the
truth is "everything can be improved upon"...

Lincoln Steffen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Steffens), an American Journalist, wrote the following statement.

"Everything in the world remains to be done or done over. The greatest picture is not
yet painted, the greatest play isn’t written, the greatest poem is unsung. There isn’t
in all the world a perfect railroad, nor a good government, nor a sound law..."

The above statement, in my opinion, remains as true today as it was back then, in 1931, when
Steffens first wrote it...

If everyone had this type of mentality (the "that's already been done" attitude), more than half
of the products you and I buy today would not exist. I mean, think about it, how many different
types of computers exist? Telephones? Sneakers? Stereos?

The list could literally go on and on forever... If you're idly sitting by your computer with this type
of thinking, you deserve exactly what you're gonna get -- 'left behind'...

Stop worrying about whether a particular product has already been created or not. Let's face it,
every app out there can be improved upon, so why not do exactly that?

1. Think of a product YOU like...
2. Create a list of PROs and CONs
3. When creating your new app, be sure to include as many of the PROs as you can
4. Think of a way to add whatever is needed to eliminate the CONs

BELIEVE IN YOUR PRODUCT - If you don't think your product is great, how will you ever be able to
convey to your users that the product is great? They will sense your insecurity. They will see right
through your sales page rubbish. If you don't believe that your product kicks a*s, you will NEVER be
able to convince your potential buyers that it's worth their hard earned money...

I could not have stated it better myself jonathan, in fact where would we all be if our illustrious leader Thomas thought that way?. The answer is certainly not here :)
