How to get totals for grid columns

It seems like we may have covered this, but I cannot find it. In one of my products, I would like to get totals for several of the columns in the grid. Anyone know the answer?

Right click on the bottom of the column and select how you want it to add up sum, min, max, count, avg.

I tried that this morning, but couldn't recollect how to select which column I wanted to total. In trying again, I clicked on the heading above the particular column, then went back to the bottom and clicked again, then selected "sum". It works fine for me now. Thanks! :D
