View Full Version : Best practice for installation of TSB Pro?
I downloaded TSB pro to an external drive G: and installed it from there to a partitioned drive D:
I saw some other people had errors and you were suggesting they move stuff over to C:
I haven't started any project - well just one little test project - so would it be better to avoid hassles and uninstall completely and reinstall on C:? In what folder?
I don't think there was a readme.txt in the unzipped package so I just assumed that I could install anywhere and on any drive.
Sorry if I missed this instruction - if I did pls point me to the installation guide or let me know the recommended installation location.
Thanks.

It sounds like the best practice is to install it on drive c into it's default directory. You shouldn't have to change anything in it's setup. After you uninstall your current one, just delete the directory on your d drive that tsb installed into.
I also have numerous drives, but always install programs into their default directory on c. I just use the others to store data, that way I can keep the c drive smaller and faster. :)

I have my system set up the same way Mike has... so I have TSBPro in the Program folder on C drive.
I have my data in two places on F drive. The graphics are in one folder and the notes, samples, and everything else are in a different folder. Once I have each project finished (and I am close to that on a couple! ) I'll create an Archive folder for each individual project with copies of EVERYTHING related to that project.
I keep the Graphics work for all of my businesses in ONE location to simplify backups and so I can find things faster when I am designing. ;-)

Hi Pete,
It is always best to install in the default directory. The software looks for a folder in a particular spot on the c drive. Installing int on the d drive won't necessarily mean it won't work if your computer setup is run off the c drive.
Hopefully that makes sense.
