I built my first app - a simple CRM for tracking contacts. It compiled and built the install/setup package ok and then it installed and ran just fine.

I used the "person" object and didn't realize that it already had first and last name in there plus some other fields I didn't know about. But that's ok.

It's just good to go through the whole process of making an app and installing it and then running it.

Whole process including installing tsb pro took about 2 hours total today.

In the meantime I've found a competing CRM in my niche and I plan start developing my real app to blow them away by giving away my copy for free, and building a list, then selling a premium version or just marketing other related products to the list.

Tigersoft seems good for making personal contact/info managers and organizers, but I'll experiment with other editors now that I've been through this once.

Onwards and upwards.

Cheers,
Pete

Good going, Pete! Once you set started the learning curve is very fast. :)

I have a conference call set up in three weeks to discuss a JV opportunity regarding one of my apps. (It is in a VERY non-IM niche! LOL)

Te help myself explore the TSB options, I have created a Test App that contains examples of every every editor and software object, so I can easily go in a play around.

Now that I have seen Jonathon's great Relational Database video, I am REALLY connecting the dots.

Every step of the way, I see the incredible versatility and elegance of design Thomas has put into TSB!

Now... if I could just stop DREAMING about building apps and get a decent night's sleep! LOLOL

Hey Pete, I'm glad to hear you are getting the hang of it... Remember, tho,
better does not always mean bigger, sometimes, simpler IS better...

Hey Tink, I am glad you liked my latest video (http://profittigersystems.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=422). Any chance I could convince you

Pete, the software that you can create will depend on your imagination. It doesn't have to be contact management software. That is too easy. ;)

Great job,

Thomas

Heh, I think the next program I make will be a customer relationship management software, just need to brainstorm what property editors I'll need to really make it stand out and compete in the niche!

Gonna spend some of today looking at the competition and seeing what they have...

then do it better!
