Grouped Checlist or Multiselect Dropdown or Both

It would be awesome if we could create either a grouped checklist (of "check boxes)
or a multi-select dropdown list to allow users to select multiple items... (or both even)

I definitely second this request... It'd be great if creating a grouped checklist was similar to adding options to a drop down where each "caption" creates a new entry. I also like the idea of having a "[custom]" entry for drop downs that end users can fill in when the preselected options don't fit their specific situation.
