Creation Problem

Hello Thomas,

I just tried to create a software that I just finished and when I run the create I noticed that the build is not working right. See Picture I noticed during the compression install off line



The program gives me an exe file as if it was created properly but when I run the install I get a fatal error. See Pictures.
I have tried to create and install two times without success.

I created the software again and tried to install it on my Vista 32 computer and it said it installed OK but I cannot find it anywhere on the computer. So, I copied the exe file and tried it on my XP computer and it installed fine and runs fine.

I created another program and did the install on my vista 32 without problems. So, I don't know!!!

You don't see anything for the program in Start- All Programs? What the heck is going on there Roland. ;)

No, I don't see it anywhere. I even checked the C drive program files. I have been working on a large program with 23 Software objects and 30 relationships all coming off of one navigation and expect to be adding more. One of the things I notice is getting the customization to stay in place is getting harder. At least on my Vista computer.

The rest of my programs on my Vista computer seem to be working fine. Like I said the program installed fine and worked well on my XP. I am just waiting for the update so I can export layouts and hopefully start new with TSBPro on my Vista computer.

I do have a question just thinking about this program. With the mail merge, will we be able to add multiple databases or software objects to do reportsor auto fill forms.

I am addicted to this thing. My wife feels lonely too sometimes.

Tell your wife I am apologize. hehe

I am not sure what you mean by multiple databases, Roland.

You will be able to create forms and letters that will merge data, from your Software Objects, into the forms and letters.

I mean a complete medical history from all the objects to print out at one time. Comprehensive types of reports.

You should use the reports for something like that. There is a filter in the reports that you can set to get the records you need.

The mail merge will merge data from one Software Object.

Thanks for the information.
I hope you have good notes on the report writer because that will be an important part for business applications. Since the wizard only works on one database as far as I know all reports requiring more than one object will need to be done manually. I have been trying to work with the report writer but have had problems because of documentation, etc. I will keep working at it. This is my first time trying to make reports using a report writer.

Looking forward to the docs and update.
