Lost customization of layout

Hi Thomas,

When I reuse a Software Object for a different software project, all previous customization layout of the object is lost. Is this the case or am I not saving properly? I did use the "close and save".

Also, how is a previously saved layout imported back into TSB?

Edit: OK, I see the import button. I was looking for it from the other window.

Hi Daniel,


The import button will not work.


This is designed that way. Maybe a little inconvenient but couldn't be helped. It is the way things work in the background.


You will have to customize the layout every time you use the software object.


I personally like to make it look a little different so all my software don't look the same. ;)

You got a import button Steve. Don't be lying. :D

When you click on the Software Projects button on the left, select the Misc tab at the top and you will see a import button. This if for importing software layouts that was created by other TSB users.

You can sell other users or give away your software layouts that you created. It is a file that has all the information on your the Software Project that you exported.


Export is on the detail window of the Software Project. Click the Misc tab.

You sound like my wife Steve. :D

The clone button will be on the detail window of the software object. Maybe even the Software Project.

I also think it is shown when you click on the Software Project button on the left. It should be on the top that says clone.

I will have to check now, you got me all confused. hehe

Look next to the refresh button on the top toolbard.

No its not there.
I have on the object window: Cancel | Delete | Refresh | Validate :confused:
and on the main window I have New | Delete | Refresh | Previous Object | Next Object

What window do you have up?

Go back to the main window and click the Software Object. It will be up next to Refresh.

It will also be on the Software Object detail window.

I have professional version, I'm trying to take a snap now.

I don't have a CLONE either. I have seen it before. On previous versions of the builder. And, in my dreams. I have started dreaming about all this lately. When I wake up...my database is all messed up. It takes a couple of cups of strong coffee to get going again and realize the nightmare is over.

Looks like there is no such thing as a clone. I need to burn the evidence. :D

I will add it to the next release.
