OK... this is prompted in part by Thomas' new Tiger Article Maker software and would possibly be of interest related to the software we are building.
Is there a practical way to have it installed on both of my computers and coordinate the data?
Either by having both installations pull from one database -- which I am doing with some of my software -- or maybe by copying from one to the other at the end of the work day?
It would be really nice to be able to work on articles from either computer... I like to curl up on the sofa and work, especially in the winter. :)

Hi Tink,
I use a wireless network in my home office. It allows me to have access to all of my computers desktops thru the network router. I can use the same software and files from each computer. Just make sure you have your security in place.
My network keeps the cost of software licensing down because I only need one copy of software on a computer and access it from all my computers.
Another option is gotomypc.com which works great.
Hope that helps. :)
Best Regards,
Jim

Hi Jim - I have wireless (with security :) )
I have software installed on both laptop and desktop but keep the files on the desktop...
I was asking if it was possible to do this with these programs, and if so, how? In most cases, I am using a different data storage location that the software default... but needless to say, this only works when I can tell the problem where to access the data.
How do you access the software on one computer from another computer? Is there a way to access the Program folder? I have never been able to do so.

Hi Tink,
No, it isn't possible right now.
I will be adding multi user functionality to the Professional version next year.
This will allow you to add users and work off of one database.
Great for small companies. hint hint. ;)

I think what Jim does is install it on one computer. He then connects to that computer via the wireless connection. He just runs the software from there. He doesn't install it on two computers.
So computer A has the software.
Computer B connects to Computer A.
User of Computer B double clicks the shortcut for software on Computer A.

That all make sense but ...
I know I am missing something REALLY obvious here...
HOW do I click on the shortcut for software on Computer A when I am using Computer B?
I can't access the Program Files or Windows from the other computer...

Maybe he's using a remote control program, such as remote desktop

He may have created a shortcut in a folder or location that is accessible through the wireless network. Just like the shortcut that gets put on your desktop when installing TSB.
