Here is the Article Maker layout file.
Click the import button, select the layout file and it should import directly into your software. Hopefully. :D

Please don't resell or give this away. I want to make sure everyone that purchased isn't screwed. :)
We can talk about the software in this thread.
If it is more helpful, I can create some software (make a video of me doing it) and post the layouts on a thread for discussion. Let me know if this is a good idea.
Thanks,
MikeM

Yikes. Didn't you say she was Russian? (if I knew how to do smilies by hand I'd put one here)
Are we going to be able to put a grid inside our software like you did with the submissions? That is something I have been looking for.

I would love to give you that functionality. I have to make it a lot easier than the way I have it set up for myself. If you knew programming and relational database then it would be pretty easy. Most here do not and I need to make it easier for them to understand.

This is a great idea and would be a very busy thread...
This quote: "....If you knew programming and relational database then it would be pretty easy....."
Do you mean that if we DID know that that the software is capable or you'd have to impliment that
as extra.....OR....is that type of feature reserved for the PRO version?
Cool...this is exciting.
ps: you dont get this excitement from ebooks...heehee!!!

Hi Robbie,
This is already implemented in the Pro version. I just need to turn it on. The problem is people won't have a idea of what I was talking about even if I tried to train them. :)
I need to come up with a better way of implementing this feature. It will only be in the Pro version.
I have decided to add calculations to the Express version. I have a lot that I am adding to the Pro version and wanted to make my Express customers happy as well.
Software is great. I never got into ebooks and this will set you apart from all the other marketers.
I love the excitement from everyone on this forum. I get excited and then my wife hits me. :D

I was able to import the Article Maker Layout file into the Express, but am I correct in assuming that this was created with the Pro version and the Express is not able to create anything like this? There seems to be modules included that isn't available in the Express, so that's what I'm presuming.
I'd love to have a little more input on what the Express can and can't do because obviously the videos and manuals are all based on the Pro. :(

This is already implemented in the Pro version. I just need to turn it on.
I've worked with Microsoft Access a fair bit, so I do know what a relational database is. And it would be something I would love to see turned on in the PRO version. Most of my ideas need to be related to other input to work correctly. Ooooops I said it, work :D now I have to go do some

I've got the pro version and am endeavoring to penetrate its mysteries. What do you mean you just need to "turn it on?"
Also, in what forum would you prefer us to request videos or additional turorials and so forth?
Thanks,

Hi Mari,
I think for the price that you paid you got one heck of a deal. As I stated in the other thread, if you want a refund I will be more than happy to do it. Just PM me your paypal address.
I can put more time into doing two manuals and continually updating them. Unfortunately it will take away from me adding more functionality and spending time helping people on this forum.
Which would you prefer?
I am thinking people are not being realistic in their expectations here. It seems they want everything for the price of Express version. I might as well just go out of business then because the cost of creating and the tools I use won't allow me to make any money on that price.
I may just stop selling the Express version all together. I will be limiting the Pro version next year but most of my plans revolve around other products. That way I won't have to deal with these frowny faces from people that want everything but won't pay for it.
You can build almost everything in the Article Maker in Express. There are even some things in Article Maker that cannot be done with the Pro version. Charts is not in the Express version.

First you need to download it and unzip it. Then open TSB and click on Software Projects. On the top menus, click on Miscellaneous and then on Import. Find the layout file you saved and unzipped and TSB will import it. When it's done, I got a big red X with an error, but I clicked OK and then clicked on my Software Object icon and all the objects had been imported. Clicking back on the Software Project showed it was in there. It works, so I didn't worry about the error right after the import was done.
OH, if you didn't see it, the download is on the first post of this thread :D

I apologize for the frowny face, Thomas. I didn't expect you to create two manuals. What I had more in mind was a comparison chart of the two. That way one would know which parts to skip or work around in the manuals as well.
I'm hoping that my simple wish isn't going to have a negative outcome for other Express users. That certainly wasn't my intention.
And with that, I will gracefully retreat from this forum as I seem to be treading on thin ice here. :)
Regards,
Mari

I have a problem with this article maker layout file now.
When I originally imported it into my TSB, it didn't show an icon file. So I tried to put one in and got an error. (the same error the other person is having in another thread, low memory or something like that. I have 3 gigs) So the icon didn't load and I've used the same icon other times with no problem. I try another and same thing.
So I try to run software again, I ran it before, and it won't run, low memory. And no matter what I did, it wouldn't run again.
I rebotted the software, my computer, and still nothing. So I deleted the software project, and tried to import again, and I get a full page error, it covers my whole screen. So I went and deleted all the remnants of the software project: urls, objects and hyperlinks, and browsers. Still it won't load.
I will upload a screen of The error here.
So now I can't import that file again, unless I start a new db file, which I tried and it worked (i renamed my old and tsb made a new one.).
But I dont want a new db file without my other stuff i created in it.
From the error, it looks to me like the other fields or whatever you call them were not deleted with the objects, and are still in the db.

I had that same problem Steve. It happened after I imported the article layout file a second time. I won't say why I did it a second time :D
I fixed it by exporting all the software layouts I had created, then I uninstalled TSB, reinstalled it, and then imported all the layouts again.
May have been a bit extreme, but I didn't have time to try and figure out what happened. The only thing I had to redo was put my banners and hyperlinks back in. No big deal cause I only had a few. I'm sure Thomas will have a better fix, but it worked for my purposes.

It seems like it isn't deleting the records like it should. I am using a particular component that interacts with the database. By default it doesn't actually delete the records but puts a marker to tell the component it is deleted. I tried to get it deleted in the database but something must not be deleting.
I don't understand the memory loss if the icon doesn't have many layers.
Send me the icon at tbelknap (at) profittigerpro (dot) com.

I have been using these icons I have in a folder, Windows Icons and Famous icons i think, they usually work, but sometimes they don't. I don't think that is the problem, but when I come across it again, I will send you the icon.
PS. We really need the version with cloning and export. I'm starting to get frustrated.
I'm still happy with the software though, but need something.
How do we save a layout of a software object without saving a record? You did it in your article maker.

Yes, he is using the Pro. All versions has the capability.
Open up your software product, click the Misc tab and the export button should be there.
Make sure you have checked the branding checkbox and run the software to insure the branding is enable prior to exporting.

Perhaps this Thomas could create a "Free Resources" Forum to post finds such as this that benefit our software creation processes? :-)

Hi. Through essesntially an act of confusion, I ended up deleting the articlemarketer layout file. I then attempted to reimport it but received an a rather long error message. Since the error message would allow copying and pasting, I have sumitted an image attachment. I apologize for the size but any smaller and it would be unreadable. As it is now, I appear to be unable to reimport the layout. I'd appreciate any advice.
Edit: I see the thumbnail may be unreadable, so I'll try to find some other solution.
Edit: Here is a link to a Word doc with the screen shot. http://stranddavisenterprises.com/error_screenshot.doc
