View Full Version : Invalid file format and no database?

The following is using V2.0.0.12
I re-customized everything in my ebiztracker software and when installing it, one of the modules gives an invalid file format with a red x through it. See picture. So I uninstalled it completely, found where it stored my data in the C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\TSbuilder (see below), renamed that folder and reinstalled it. Now it does not give the red x warning.
However,
When I installed into the folder after renaming my old data folder, using my exe file from V2.0.0.12 I am still getting a No Database error when starting the program from the final installation screen on Vist 64 bit. It did not create the file folder TSbuilder_d2c2db70-89ef-4404-ae85-63bd4167fb72 in the C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\TSbuilder until I tried to open the program from the icon in the lower task bar. then it created the folder and the database within the folder.
Everything ran good after this install, with no red x. But if I change the folder names back, so it is accessing the old one, I get the red x on the one module. So, there is probably some corrupt data, but how would it get fixed if an end user had this problem on an upgrade without doing what I did above?
Clear as mud? :)

I am not sure what you are talking about Mike. :)
The folder looks correct where the data goes. It isn't creating that folder when run for the first time?
Are you running from the setup first? Does it create the folder and database?
If you don't run it from the setup first, does it create the folder and database?

Yes, it is kind of confusing :) So here goes:
1.) I made some changes to the layout and created a new exe file. I ran this file and it uninstalled ebiz tracker and then installed the new version. Upon running from the black installer program I got the database error. I then clicked the icon to start it and it started, but gives me the red x error for the autoresponder module if I use the original data folder where I had entered some data.
Are you running from the setup first? Does it create the folder and database?
I then shut it down and found the data folder and renamed it so it would install fresh. I uninstalled ebiz tracker, and then I ran setup again. I watched the data folder and ran the program from the setup. It did not create the database folder and gave the error. I ran it from the icon and it created the database folder and worked.
If you don't run it from the setup first, does it create the folder and database?
I uninstalled everything again and changed the data folder name again so it would think it did not exist. I installed it and unchecked the run from setup. I started from the icon and it did create the database folder.
Also when I do an update, the calendar is still black on the first start up. When I reinstalled, using new data I had entered in the autoresponder module, there is no red x. So it must be updating OK, but there must be something corrupted in the original data.

It seems that the software isn't getting the proper security permission when running from the setup. There may be nothing I can do about that besides taking that off of the installation and making them run it through the shortcuts.
Send me your database file that is giving you the "x" so I can take a look at it.

Mike, did you make any changes to the Autoresponder object? If so what changes did you make?

I didn't make any changes. It's a simple module. I may have entered the autoresponder code from one of my sites and then updated the software. I've entered the same data into a fresh install and it upgrades without the error, so I'm not sure what happened.

Mike, I am going to take off the "run now" on the installation. It seems that is causing problems with permissions which it shouldn't be.
