What about a conference call

I was thinking of getting a conference call with some type of video so we cal all walk through a software program from scratch.

Good idea or bad?


Good: You get to see the software in action.
Bad: You have to listen to me some more. (I can get my wife on the line, she has a sexy Russian accent. :D)

I would honestly love to see a walk through of creating a basic program from scratch.

Something similar to the "Hello World" example we learn in those introductory programming classes.



Something as simple as "How to Create a Contacts Book" which could show how to have information collected for the Person...

and then future tutorial could build on to it:

+How to have a Photos connected to your Contacts

+How to schedule Appointments in a Calendar with Contacts (with a possible Alert Reminder feature later on? *wink*)

+Maybe a text editor for a pretend Work-related memo / report

etc.


That way we could learn the power of the program step by step, and after each tutorial have the ability to play around and customize with what we were taught in that session!

Just a thought tho!

Awesome idea. I would love to see a video on the charts and reports. Although reports would probably take a whole session. :)

I think it's a great idea, I learn so much watching an expert using a software package, and sometimes it's a little trick they don't even know how powerful it is.

Example, I was watching someone's video and at one point she used colorzilla (one of my favorite firefox plugins) and said, "right click and copy the hex number" WHAT! :eek: you can copy that stupid number.-- I had no idea...:mad:

Can you also post the link to time zones when you do it?
I find most are not normal working hours Sydney EST also daylight saving.
Also a registration before hand and reminder emails are good.
Might be a good plugin to get for the community, a conference room?
