Wondering if anyone has information on pricing of buyer lists. By "buyer lists" I'm referring to lists of pre-qualified and screened individuals who have demonstrated a need or a strong interest for a product or service. An example of a buyer list would be individuals whose car lease expires in 3 months and must locate another vehicle, either leased or purchased. Matching individuals with these needs with suppliers has value. A concrete example of such a list would be car dealerships who could target their sales efforts directly to those customers.
I've heard about a British firm that has made a real business out of matching needs and providers in London. My research has turned up companies that provide various lists but haven't gotten information on prices. I'm not talking about mail lists or lists of professional or other service categories. I have data on the cost of these type lists.
Reviewed Warior Forum and couldn't find much on buyer list pricing. So I'm flying blind here, a little like "pig n' poke".
If anyone has information on list prices or suggestions on how to find such information I'd appreciate hearing about it.
Thanks,
John B

Forgot to mention in earlier post that I have a means of generating buyer lists of highly qualified individuals who would be attractive sales targets for a variety of niche markets. Don't know enough about pricing and marketing of these lists to figure out profit potential and whether it is worthwhile to pursue the idea.

Depending on the niche, I have a friend that owns a fortune 5000 company that sells leads/buyers lists. What niches do you service? They buy and sell leads in mostly insurance type niches, but may be open if it is profitable for them.

And from my experience working with them in the past, the list business depends on the competitive nature of each type of business. Insurance leads are sold for $5-25 per lead depending on the type as some are more competitive and profitable than others.

DominicW:
we are in the medical software business. Diagnostic programs. Our main product is now in beta testing (4th version) with some doc's. We collect a large amount of patient data and run diagnostic analysis on it using proprietary algorithms.

The output diagnoses a large number of chronic headache conditions, over 20. Some are best treatable by pain management centers, others in part by chiropractors, and some by psychiatric/psychological and counselling services, physical therapy and so on.

Most medical doctors don't want chronic pain patients and often misdiagnose their condition. However, with our diagnostic tool the job for medical doctors becomes much simpler and more manageable.

We are thinking of offering a free version via the Internet with the clear understanding that we may distribute the email address. Given that there are often multiple conditions needing treatment, such an email list could be of strong interest to those who market for pain centers, chiropractors, psychiatrists, counselling service, medical device distributors, physical therapists, health magazines, pharmaceutical companies and health food and alternative medicine providers.

There is a business called "patientslikeme.com" at which a number of folks with different ailments list their medical conditions and the drugs/treatments they are undergoing with an evaluation. Patientslikeme.com sells the lists of such patients and the outcomes to a variety of companies.

Chronic headache sufferers require treatment and follow up management almost indefinetely. In the US alone there are 40 million such individuals.

Federal HIPPA laws don't applyto our work because we are not a medical provider and we do have the consent of the individual to personal information.

I'd be interested in your reaction to the above.
Best regards,
John B
